The Poet Returns

Through it all to be cursed this way.
Now I know why.
How it all came to be.
And do I still feel?
Despite the scars, the tears and fading fears?
Yes, for what shall soon be.
And do mysteries still exist?
Despite the questions answered and the answers questioned?
Even in twilight slumber, these dreams dare not vanish.
This truth calls still.
That heart beats ill.
So if I bring her back to life.
Will she comfort me once more?
Would she still love?
If I call her name.
Will she find me this time?
In all I felt, misery loved me best.
But, misery was traded for hate.
The pain of which came far too late.
The past blinded the future.
Dreamers faded without sound.
And as I looked around.
A familiar solitude is what was found.
Within that darkness, the endless night.
Those eyes once again in sight.
The window back to dreams.
Where hope redeems.
And despite the actions of some.
The ending has yet to come.

And for those who's wishes and dreams still yearn.
The poet shall at last return.
